The String Orchestra had a very full year this year. In February they enjoyed workshops at Mount Royal University, staying later in the evening to take in the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra. Later in March they performed in the Highwood Lions Music Festival, earning a Distinction for their performance. Additionally we also had the St. Cecilia String Ensemble consisting of students with 3 or more years of experience only. They also performed in the Highwood Lions Music Festival, earning a Distinction once again. We are one of very few schools in the province that host a strings program, and perhaps the only rural school that does so. The ensemble includes students in grades 7 through 12.
