The Canadian Band Association sponsors the *Distinguished Musician Awards* for music programs managed by members of member associations, including the Alberta Band Association. *Distinguished Musicians* are not necessarily the musicians with the highest mark in a class, although their academic standing is certainly considered. The recognition is given in honour of superior musicianship, leadership, dependability, loyalty and cooperation. One award may be given for every ensemble, and multiple may be given if the ensemble is at least 40 musicians in size. ![[cba.png]]
