![[2024-2025 Medicine Hat.jpg]] The Senior Concert Band had an inspiring year this year, starting off with recorded performances for both Halloween and Remembrance Day, and culminating in the trip to Regina. On our trip to Regina, we stopped first at Holy Spirit Academy to introduce and inspire the incoming Grade 6 cohort. We then went to Medicine Hat to work with the Centre For Learning Band, playing their pieces *Champion* and *Pirates of the Caribbean*, and working on our own literature with renowned music educator Mark Ward. We then moved on to Regina, where we first workshopped with Canadian Band Association National Band Award Recipient Brent Ghiglione at the University of Regina. Following that we continued on to the Regina Music Festival, where adjudicator Ryan Purchase awarded us **First Place** in the Band category. Following that success we celebrated by visiting the Tunnels of Moose Jaw. On our way home we were welcomed with open arms, and donuts, by the parish in Swift Current.
