Details for each event are included in this message, and will be updated here if any changes occur, so please [[2025-2026/June Performances|bookmark this blog]]! # June Calendar of Events (see below for details of each event) - **June 3, 2026 - 6:00 PM - "Fanfare and Festival" Year-End Showcase and Awards** - includes all Concert Bands, Marching Band, St. Cecilia Strings, Massed Band and Hall of Fame Nominations and Inductions - **June 5, 2026 - 5:00 - 8:00 PM - Family Fun Night** - includes The Woodshedders, Panorama, and both Jazz Combos. Will also include presentations from Leadership in the Arts students. - **June 10, 2026 - 10:15 AM - 1:30 PM - Grade 9s to Holy Spirit Academy** - Grade 9s will be performing for Holy Spirit Academy students to let Grade 6s know about band classes ... [First-come-first-served signup by Permission Forms](https://christtheredeemer.schoolcashonline.com/). # A Note about Long & McQuade Instruments Long & McQuade has been sending rental reminders much earlier this year, and it is causing some confusion. If you have received a notification from Long & McQuade about renewing your instrument, here's what you need to know; - Students will be using their instruments until June 20, 2026 at the latest. - You do not need to return your student's instrument unless they are not playing that instrument next year. - Instrument changes need to be discussed with Mr. Windsor, and cannot be presumed as Mr. Windsor needs to manage instrumentation for ensemble success. - Students (and their families) are responsible for returning instruments to Long & McQuade. Instruments cannot be returned via the school, and must be returned directly to a Long & McQuade store. If you have any other questions about instruments, please send Mr. Windsor an email, he will repond to instrument questions as early as Monday, June 9, 2026. # Event Details ## "Fanfare and Festival" Year-End Showcase and Awards - June 3, 2026 at 6:00 PM **Admission by Donation**. Students' call time is 5:30 PM. This is our big year-end event where every student shows their growth and development, and we celebrate Distinguished Musicians, Grade 12s and Hall of Fame nominations and inductions.  ## Family Fun Night - June 5, 2026, 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM **Free admission, open to the NDC Family Community, includes food trucks, performances and games.** Call time for students is 4:30 PM. Schedule of performances will be shared closer to the date. Will include all jazz groups and steel pans. ## Grade 9s at Holy Spirit Academy - June 10, 2026, 10:15 AM - 1:30 PM Transportation is being provided to Grade 9s at no cost to go to Holy Spirit Academy to perform for the Grade 6s. [Please complete the permission form so that we can provide transportation for your student to Holy Spirit Academy](https://christtheredeemer.schoolcashonline.com/). This is the day Holy Spirit Academy students get exposed to all the instruments of band, and Grade 9s get to be the leaders to do it. Students will leave Notre Dame Collegiate at 10:15 AM, set up in the gym of Holy Spirit Academy during that school's Period 4, eat a bag lunch while at HSA, then perform during that school's Period 5 (similar in time to NDC's lunch hour). They will then be transported back to Notre Dame Collegiate for their Block 3 Band class, where donuts will be waiting for them. ## Okotoks Children's Parade and Festival - June 20, 2026, 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM **Pancake Breakfast provided by the Okotoks Lion's Club**. We will be marching in the parade this year. [Please complete the permission form so that we can provide transportation for your student to the parade location](https://christtheredeemer.schoolcashonline.com/). Students will arrive at the Okotoks Recreation Center at 8:00 AM, enjoy pancake breakfast provided by the Okotoks Lions Club, then prepare for the parade. The parade begins at 10:00 AM and travels down Milligan Drive in Okotoks until it arrives at Dr. Morris Gibson School. We'll return by foot back to the Okotoks Recreation Center, and play one more time at the Children's Festival before departing back for High River. ## Showbands Showdown - June 28, 2026, 4:00 PM - 11:00 PM **No Performance, we will be spectators only**. The first 24 students to sign up will be provided free transportation via our school's Activity Bus. Other students may also choose to join, but must arrange their own transportation, for which Notre Dame Collegiate cannot be responsible. However, students who arrive with an NDC Band Jacket will be granted free admission to the Showbands Showdown (we will all walk in together).
